Adventures with Lynn Allen

If you ever get the chance to have a sit down with Lynn Allen, take it.  Over the last couple of days, I have been working with Lynn on the creation of the AutoCAD 2010 demo.  Aside from the opportunity to be part of the promotion of one of the most revered software products in human history, I got to hang with Lynn.  We built the demo as we went – who needs scripts – right?

Check out what Lynn had to say about our adventure:

HP Adopts Viewstream’s Proprietary Presentation Technology

For the past two years, Viewstream has provided proprietary networking and display systems for HP and The Kenwood Group events. Our system, developed in-house, allows audience members to send questions via text message or e-mail, which were processed and displayed on the main screen in real time.

Most recently, we were in Las Vegas for the 2008 HP Software Universe Conference. Check out the photos to see our technology in action!

Autodesk Screencast Release

Viewstream just completed a lead generation project for Autodesk relating to their AutoCAD 2009 product launch. The project was a series of screencasts — and the results thus far have been very successful in terms of click through and requests for more information.

You can check out the work here:

Viewstream also helped out a lot with Autodesk’s Unisfair videos – creative and production work we’re involved.

BTW, if you need help with your product demonstrations, website demos or flash presentations, don’t hesitate to contact us. We’d love to help.

What Can The Wall Street Journal Do For You?

When public eyes are on you, whether at an industry trade show, on your website, or on the cover of the Wall Street Journal, are you truly putting your best foot forward? Are you speaking directly to those individual sets of eyes, or are you generalizing for the masses?

Many companies focus on PR tactics to carry the load of turning prospects to leads. But awareness is not enough to make that transition. Prospects may know who you are, but do they know what your solution can do for them?

In a B2B environment, your best foot is one-to-one customer centric marketing. Product demos, tutorials, consultative information, and case studies all work together to drive sales. More than putting information out there, product and solution-focused material speaks directly to prospects, driving demand, improving sales cycles, and ultimately increasing revenues.

While broad media attention is never bad, for the investment it often doesn’t necessarily translate into bottom line dollars. Customer-facing marketing tools, enhanced by high-level branding and positioning, directed media placement, and search engine optimization ensure your prospects get into the sales cycle.

Unfortunately, we have seen many companies spend excessively on PR without getting sales. One client made the cover of the Wall Street Journal and received one single phone call. That’s not ROI.

Valant Medical Solutions Booth

Viewstream recently helped out Valant Medical Solutions with their trade show booth. Valant is a great company, with a great solution. If you happen to be a psychiatrist and need an EMR solution, check out their website at Valantmed.com (Viewstream designed their logo, helped with application design and product demonstrations – but not their website)!

Viewstream.com Redesigned!!!

It is with great pleasure that we announce the launch of our new and improved website, which can be accessed by visiting www.viewstream.com.  We love the design, simplicity and focus on HD video over the web.

Please comment on the new site if you have a chance — we would love the feedback!

A word about firsts….HD video over the web is another Viewstream first. We designed one of the first search engines called Magellan, conducted the first live webcast, first beta site for mosiac browser in ’94, streamed some of the first video over the internet, first place in quicktime film festival 1.0, and now one of the first companies to offer HD streaming. That’s pretty cool stuff.

Sesame Street

At Viewstream, we are not all business. Well, we are, but sometimes we like to take a breather from the rat race and take on fun projects that we find fulfilling and worthwhile. So when we got a call from Sesame Street to do a couple shorts for the show, we were both honored and stoked. Pretty much everyone at Viewstream HQ has harbored dreams of being on Sesame Street at one point or another in our lives. In fact, one of our employees was actually on Sesame Street back in ’75. It was a homecoming, in a way. So how could we pass it up?

Doing what we do best, we took on the creative direction, the compositing, and the motion graphics for more than forty four shots in (1080p) HD format. The special effects created a colorful, animated backdrop perfect for kids to enjoy and learn from.

Though we are certainly not experts on the subject matter, the first short explained how the human brain helps us perform day-to-day functions. It also gave us the chance to show the world our zany, twisted view of San Francisco.

The second segment was a noir tale of a distressed woman on the search for a triangle. In desperation, she requests the services of a private gumshoe (not Sherlock Hemlock, but this guy would do), who helps her find triangles all over the place. Even James Blunt got in on the triangle action that episode!

These videos just aired on PBS, so we’ve got public television under our belts. Now back to those product demos!
